A Spotlight on Our Local Partnerships

At The Grain Store our ethos and philosophy is about working in harmony with nature and our environment. We’re proud to be a part of the local Lewes community and wider Sussex area. We thrive on establishing partnerships and building relationships with local businesses that share our commitment to sustainability.

The Grain Store

Bespoke approach

For us, it’s not only about our environmental ethos and collaborating with passionate like-minded individuals and brands. It’s also about being simple, functional and beautiful - three guiding principles that are woven throughout The Grain Store. From its conception, creation and in day-to-day practice through both our stay and hire offers.

At The Grain Store we offer bespoke luxury holidays and the opportunity to hire our space for photography shoots, retreats and business away days.

Are you a photographer, writer or business looking for a space to create, expand and collaborate? Perhaps you are looking for a much-needed staycation with your family, a regroup with friends or a romantic getaway? If you are in search of some peace and quiet, connection and exploration, The Grain Store compliments and works in harmony with the picturesque landscape of the South Downs. Whatever your reason to book The Grain Store, we make sure that our hosting is bespoke to your needs and do our best to make sure you have a memorable experience.

It’s all about the small things

Our guests that stay at The Grain Store receive a bottle of the wonderful Albourne Estate, one of the best vineyards in East Sussex, Multi-Vintage bubbly with their stay. The perfect accompaniment to help you unwind and enjoy the space;  whether that’s admiring the view from our veranda or relaxing in the hot tub. Much time and intention has gone into choosing each specific item in our kitchen; from the luxury eco Bird & Blend tea, Trading Post organic coffee to Old Tree Brewery Kombucha and artisan Mestó olive oil. We also are avid fans of the fabulous UK-designed and produced Freight products, which include The Studio bench, the cushions on the kitchen pew, bread knives, basalt utensil holders, and much more. Every supplier we choose has a purpose, even down to the not-so-sexy but very important Who Gives a Crap loo roll and kitchen towel and the Smol laundry and cleaning products.

The Grain Store - a home away from home

Getting cosy

Our home away from home would not be complete without welcoming you with the most comfortable, beautiful and low-maintenance bedding. Our Piglet in Bed bedding is a firm favourite with our guests. We use this in the summer months when we can line dry, as part of our eco-ethos. Inspired by the beauty of Sussex and travels to India, our printed cushions on our downstairs sofas and in the mezzanine are from local designer Molly Mahon. Our mezzanine sofa throw and recycled bamboo hangers came from Flint, a local shop close to Lewes with an emphasis on ethical and eco-conscious labels. It’s far more than interior design to us, it is about simple, conscious living and supporting small local businesses that are doing great things.
